Exclusive Breastfeeding Practices In Infants 0-6 Months Against The Incidence Of Stunting

Background: Stunting is a linear growth and development disorder in toddlers that affects the risk of morbidity, mortality, inhibition of motor and mental development (Langi et al., 2019). Stunting can be caused by nutritional intake that is not in accordance with nutritional needs. Objectives: a) To determine whether there is an influence between employment status and exclusive breastfeeding time on the incidence of stunting. b) To determine the effect of the level of maternal knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding on the incidence of stunting. c) To determine the strength of exclusive breastfeeding on the incidence of stunting. d) For the quality of exclusive breastfeeding on the incidence of stunting. Research Methods: This research is a qualitative study described descriptively to make the practice of mothers in exclusive breastfeeding in the locus of stunting in Maros Regency.This type of research used is a case study with the aim of fully understanding the practice of mothers in exclusive breastfeeding in the locus of stunting in Maros Regency.Results: Based on the results of interviews with informants about exclusive breastfeeding, the results showed that they fully lacked understanding of exclusive breastfeeding.Of course, it is hoped that there will be support from the environment in order to provide exclusive breastfeeding for their babies.Conclusion: From the results of the study it can be concluded that the lack of knowledge of mothers about exclusive breastfeeding, breastfeeding mothers who have activities both as workers and as housewives still provide exclusive breastfeeding, there is no special care for the mother's breasts in preparing for the birth of a child, the baby's mother is more confident with formula milk with the assumption that the baby's child grows and develops faster with formula milk based on information obtained from the Internet media.
