Keywords:
Stunting, Quantity, Quality, Breast Milk MPAbstract
Background: The main cause of growth retardation is nutritional deficiency, especially in the first 1000 days of life (HPK) from conception to 2 years of age. This period is often referred to as the "window of opportunity". The increasing rate of stunting in the 6 months to 2 years age group indicates that Indonesian children are not getting adequate nutrition and complementary feeding habits. Objective: To determine the practice of complementary feeding with stunting in children aged 6-24 months in Maros district. Methods: This research is a descriptive qualitative research with case study type. Results: Breastfeeding in terms of quantity and quality of breastmilk is still inappropriate. The first age of breastfeeding is mostly correct and the mother's knowledge about good food for her child is very good, but the mother's knowledge about her child's physical condition is lacking. Breast milk MP is still missing. The first type of breastmilk given by informants was commercial or factory breastmilk. The average difficulty felt by informants was that the infants had difficulty eating and would vomit again if given food. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that the triggers of stunting can be caused by improper breastfeeding practices in relation to the frequency, amount, consistency, and type of breastmilk and the quality of breastmilk that is not correct.
